Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful time aboard the Liahona!! The host and Captain went above and beyond for our crew. The amenities made our sail much more comfortable, full size refrigerator and dishwasher were great!!

Excellent Facility

Liahona is the best kept secret in the BVI! We have done Yacht charters on The Moorings several times and thought we\'d died and gone to Caribbean heaven.... until we experienced this charter. There are so many special touches this Yacht has that none of the other charters had. First of all and very importantly- a water treatment system. The boat has a system that uses ocean water and converts it to usable water and you won\'t have to spend valuable time filling the tanks every 3 days at a Marina and paying for the water. Each room on the boat has it\'s own temperature control - HUGE BONUS! That way if you want to sleep with your room cooler at night- you got it! The Yacht is fully stocked with every pot, pan, and dish you need plus lots of extras. Captain Gerry is fantastic! He is so easy going and fun to be around. Our girls just loved him to death and we always felt so safe with him. At first I was not sure how I would like NOT having a chef to prepare all the meals like we had on The Moorings but honestly, I like it sooooo much better. When you have a Chef on board you are paying for all the meals and you have no control over really what they are and how much of it there is. Also if you paid for a bunch of food and meals you feel like you need to eat on the boat. Being able to go out for some meals gave us a wonderful variety and didn\'t break the bank. We went to Bobby\'s Supermarket the morning of our charter and bought what we wanted and Bobby\'s delivered it to us on the boat. We prepared breakfast and lunch on the boat and ate a few evening meals out and then I prepared several evening meals. Cooking in the galley was great- sooo roomy and scenic. I watched the sunset and rise as I was preparing the things we wanted and everyone pitched in and helped. It was very enjoyable for us as a family too. All of our kids said it was the trip of a lifetime and that we MUST go back every year- Luis and I agree! Definitely plan to charter with Liahona again, and again and again!

Perfect and very comfortable!

We just retuned from a week with Captain Gerry on Liahona. We couldn’t have been more pleased, and wanted to provide a detailed review. There were 7 of us; 4 adults and 3 kids. The 50’ Lagoon is spacious with 2 large queen cabins in the stern, each with heads and showers; perfect for couples. The kids stayed in the forward starboard cabins, which consisted of a queen bed and head, and a separate cabin with bunk beds and another head. So 4 cabins and 4 heads; Gerry has his own quarters in the bow on the port side. The galley is huge, and the large fridge plus the full size dishwasher was an added bonus. We provisioned online and had it delivered to the boat, but also went to the grocery store in Road Town when we got there to pick through fruits/veggies/etc. We got the boat loaded and we were ready to go. We had a Captain\'s brief with Gerry to go over safety issues and our itinerary. We were new to the BVIs, so left it to Gerry to give us his best recommendations on where to go and what to do. He’s been in the BVIs for 22 years, so we felt it was best to leave it to the expert. We went to Norman Island (snorkeling the caves), Cooper Island, Virgin Gorda (Baths), Anegada (amazing lobster dinner), Jost Van Dyke (beaches and beach bars), back to Norman, then motored back to Road Town the morning of our last day. Gerry is extremely knowledgable, has been in the business for a long time and is very accommodating. The sailing was excellent, he took us to amazing beaches and the snorkeling spots were great. He handled the boat without a second thought, and made sure our nights at anchor were clam and comfortable. The dinghy/kayak/floats made things easy to get around. We enjoyed having Gerry with us for all our meals both onboard and/or onshore, which is standard if you have a captain; so be sure to provision/plan accordingly. Overall, the boat was great and Gerry was extremely helpful, friendly, and easy going. Don’t hesitate booking Liahona if you’d like a carefree and luxurious adventure in the BVIs. Cheers!
