Description

Welcome to BeachWay Bungalows

Location, Location, Location

The beach. Only a short block away to a beach that has no high rises and not many people even at sunset. There is also a bench to sit and contemplate the sea or watch the sunsets. You might have to be a bit early to get a seat on the bench, but you can always bring your own.

Restaurants. A little longer walk (1/4 mile) to several great restaurants. We like the Sandbar Tiki & Grill, but there’s also the White Elephant Pub for on the water dining, Lock ‘N Key and The Waverly. Most have live music. If you’d rather not walk, Stumpy’s Free Ride, an island shuttle service at 941-822-1444. They do suggest you tip the driver, but otherwise it’s free.

Stump Pass State Park where you can walk all the way to Stump Pass on a nature trail or the beach all the way. This is a great daily walk. If you go all the way, it’s about 5 miles round trip. Our daily walk is two miles. In the summer, you’ll see lots of turtle nests on the beach.

Your hosts are 100 yards down the driveway–just far enough for your privacy and close enough if you need something.

Lemon Bay if you have a boat you need to dock or simply want to spot some dolphins, you can walk down the driveway to our dock. Bring a fishing rod if you’re so inclined.

Convenient shopping. There’s a convenience store (Circle K) in the restaurant area on the key and grocery stores and other shopping less than two miles, yet worlds away.

location is wonderful!

What a lovely, cozy place to stay! Very clean and plenty of room. We were treated wonderfully. Beach access is literally steps from the door! Right down the street from Stump Pass - location is wonderful!

Perfect little place

Perfect little place to get away from the daily grind. This host went to great lengths to think of the details of a vacationer’s needs. Don’t worry about the heat; these window a/c units work hard at getting the place to cold temps if desired. There’s also a stand up and ceiling fan, if you need extra air! The quaint kitchen is small but fierce, as it includes a stove top/oven, large sink, refrigerator/freezer, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, dishes, and utensils. The TV is of perfect size for the sitting area. There is even a back door that leads you to an outside shower (to the right) for your sandy feet. Even though the place appears to be on the smaller side, it’s very nicely laid out and organized. Four people can easily have an enjoyable time here! Tip for the future renters: if you’re visiting during the summer months, track down a ‘turtle patrol’ person on the beach. They walk in pairs, and they wear matching shirts that say ‘turtle patrol’. They walk around the turtle sites in the early mornings (sunrise) and in the evenings. Ask them when the next excavation is happening. We were lucky enough to see one on our last day, and found a baby turtle making its way through the sand and to the gulf. Look up turtle excavations for more details.

Incredible stay!

Incredible stay! Perfect little get away spot. The most comfortable little home base for going to all of the local beaches. Shark teeth on the beach for days, close to the walking trail on Stump\'s Pass, and a special opportunity for our kids to see hatchling turtles and their trip to the ocean. Close to the main land, restaurants, and stores. The kitchenette was perfectly stocked and well organized for cooking for our family. All of the beaches were amazing for everything from lounging, snorkeling, swimming, or beach combing. All the locals were so kind and gracious. Michael was almost instananiously available via text and did everything in his power to make us comfortable or help when we needed him. A++ host. Definitely recommend the hidden gem of Blind Pass Beach, so worth the 5 minute drive. It was great for a romantic getaway for us as a couple and a special trip with the kids. Our boys 7 & 3 were the PERFECT age for Michael\'s bungalow. They had anything there we could need from floats, a Florida \"snow shovel\" for shark tooth hunting, to a patio area with a really nice grill for a bar-b-que. The only cloud in the otherwise beautiful sunny sky at the bungalow was for the parents of smaller kids or babies who need more frequent loads of laundry washed. That can be tough on Mom & Dad since the coin laundry is on the mainland, but not an insurmountable obstacle since there is also a wash and fold service on the mainland and plenty to explore. Michael\'s bungalow will always hold such wonderful memories for our family and we are forever grateful for his kindness and hospitality.

Fantastic

The space and location were fantastic. Just a couple minute walk from the beach and restaurants. We were very pleased.

Amazing

Mike communicates well, is friendly, and a responsive host. It’s accurate in how it is described. You can tell he values and appreciates you and your stay. Thanks for your hospitality!

Great place

This was my first experience. Great place, within walking distance of the beach.
