The Grand Luxxe is lux!


We just returned from a fantastic week at the Grand Luxxe Riviera Maya property. It was an absolutely a fabulous accommodation. We were picked up at the airport right on time and whisked away to heaven! We had a brief meeting with the concierge Helen while the bellhops delivered our baggage to the room. During the meeting she explained the amenities of the property and arranged a \"complimentary\" breakfast... A timeshare pitch. (I knew about this prior to arrival, however, I had a plan to send my mom, who agreed to attend in our place. The breakfast was basically a trap... We could not escape! My husband and I reluctantly sat through the property descriptions, the sales pitch answering the questions we were asked. We were there approximately 2 hours when the first sale was offered.... We declined, asked to leave and were forced to sit with another closer....45 minutes later, we declined again... They walked away and left us sitting there and would not dismiss us or sign us out. We (my husband, myself, mother, and both kids) went for the door.... And were stopped again and seated for another closer...we were late for a 1:30 checking at the spa, and had massages scheduled for 2:30p. The third closer was pitching a different program. We refused again, and were finally released....total time wasted - 4 hours. We arrived 10 minutes before our massages and were unable to enjoy the lovely spa. Our kids were starved, so we rushed off to meet with them for a quick swim and preparation for dinner. First day.... Shot! THE REST of the stay was absolutely awesome. The villa was breathtaking! Spacious. Clean. Maid service twice per day with turndown service at night. The properties are huge so one must take a shuttle to get around. We rarely waited more than 5 minutes for a shuttle. The Luxxe has it\'s own shuttles. We ate out twice at the Burger cafe there on the Luxxe property, it was terrific! (Pretty expensive for burgers) We went during happy hour twice and were very taken care of by the staff.... My husband tipped them extra....gratuity is included and the waiter made us aware, but my husband felt bad about taking the tip back, so we got some awesome service for both of our visits. The GL pool is very relaxing. We thought the pools throughout the property were gorgeous, but not refreshing at all. We used our cool plunge pool excessively. Beautiful patio, rooms, comfortable beds! We hope to come back next year!

Wonderful Resort!


Just completed a week long stay at the Grande Luxxe, Tower 1. Magnificent resort. The Villa was large, open, very clean, great views. The staff is very friendly, especially our concierge Ramiro who was very helpful and welcoming. The pools are gorgeous and everything is very clean and well kept. Surprisingly the food and beverages on he resort are very reasonably priced. Although the resort is large here are wooden walking paths with signage to everywhere you need to go. Great place for all ages. Ron and Barb Swift were great to rent from and very accommodating. We will definitely return!
