Description

BEACH, BEACH BEACH TO THE BEACH, right on the sand. the prices for the whole house are US $ 350 per night in US dollars, Alan welcomes you to his home “Villa of the Rock”(Villa de la Roca). We are located at the northern end of Playa Grande, the penultimate house on the beach. We have a beautiful private garden with a "cool" shell-shaped pool. YLang Ylang, mango, guanabana, almond, teak and guava are all around you. The house is located in the beautiful Las Baulas National Park, home to the largest leatherback turtles in the world. We keep the lights low at night, on the beach, so that the mothers that nest and the emerging babies are not confused.

The house is two stories, 32 feet high, with large decks around three sides. The honeymoon suite is on the top floor. It consists of a large master bedroom, 19 foot ceilings, double fans, large air conditioning and the main room, you can see everything. The bathroom has a tiled shower with hot water. The well-equipped kitchen has a refrigerator, 4-burner stove / coffee maker, blender and toaster. A conversational U-shaped sofa in the living room has 15 cm cushions for your comfort. An upstairs loft has a queen bed and a double bed. You have beautiful views of the beach, surfing, pelicans and sunsets from the living room, bedroom and kitchen.

The upstairs beach deck is 12 feet wide by 56 feet long - plenty of space to sit, eat, relax, watch surf and sunset. The upstairs pool side deck is 10 feet x 56 feet (we saved a big tree over the pool.

On the ground floor there are two large bedrooms, equipped with double fans, air conditioning, lockable closet, 10-foot ceilings, small kitchen with small refrigerator, double burners, coffee maker and toaster. The private bathrooms have tiled showers with hot water. both bedrooms have a king size bed and a single bed. area. From the king size bed, you look at a set of double French doors to the beach and surf, and the other set takes you to the garden and the pool. The colorful hibiscus and other plants around the patio attract butterflies and hummingbirds. I live in the place Keywords: 3 bedrooms on the beach in Playa Grande.

Guest Reviews

Relaxed environment in a spectacular setting.

The house had a great relaxed vibe which I prefer on a beach vacation. Everything was in good shape and very clean but also very comfortable and not fussy. The upper porch overlooking the water was our favorite place to have coffee in the morning and cocktails at sunset. Alan and Kathy are great and were very helpful when we had a couple of minor repairs that needed to be made. I would definitely recommend.

Incredible location! View is breathtaking!

This was a great house! Waking up every morning to the waves crashing was awesome! Our kids enjoyed exploring the rock and surfing out front. Private location but close enough to several restaurants, surf shop (Frijoles was great!)etc. thank you Kathy and Alan for being so gracious! We definitely had a memorable Pura Vida adventure!

Beautiful trip to Playa Grande

My Family traveled to Costa Rica over spring break. We stayed at Villa of the Rock and enjoyed our time. The house sits right on the beach and the views are gorgeous. Alan had people there to help us plan our stay and book any excursions we wanted to do. This made is really simple and it was so helpful to trust the people we were working with. Alan was very accommodating and made sure we understood the features of the home and how and when to lock up. The kids loved the surfing lessons, sea fishing, and many meals at Kike\'s restaurant right up the road. Also ran into a wonderful farmers market on Wednesday evening that was full of local food and art pieces to buy. The house itself was clean and in a perfect location, but it is open during the day which allows some bugs/ants inside. As long as you can look past a few bugs here and there, the house is worth it. It was very clean and we had everything we needed. Had a true Costa Rican feel which is what we were hoping for. The location was pretty close to just about everything. We experienced Sea turtles laying eggs, ocean cruises, deep sea fishing, surfing, zip lines....all were about 25 minutes away in different directions. A really nice central place to be. We loved our time there and would recommend this house.

Perfect Costa Rican Vacation

We stayed at Villa de La Roca with a group of 6 (3 couples) and the set up was perfect. Please note though, the floors are not connected inside the home- you have to go outside to get to the other floor and the porch area should be locked at night per the owners request. The kitchen is perfectly usable (but needs to be better set up with the basics before guests arrive. We had no hand soap or S&P. Also, it desperately needs new sharp knives.) for the basics but I would recommend going out to eat as much as possible- its vacation! The water pressure/temp and WiFi is great. The AC works well in the bedrooms. The home is basically open air though- meaning, you will have bugs in the house and there are always ants. This may just be part of vacationing in CR, but potentially the house could be sprayed prior to guest arrival. The beds are comfy. Towels (just enough- shower and beach) are provided. Anna Maria comes to clean regularly. While there are some things that could be polished up about this home- YOU CANT BEAT THE VIEWS. The house is one of a few ON the beach. Unobstructed views. Watch the surfers and the tide come in and out. Youre seconds away from being on the beach and collecting shells and playing in the water. Allen & Kathy were great hosts- around/available but not intrusive. They were helpful with suggestions- Taco Star is a short walk down the beach and Kikes in town for local food. They also have contacts in the community- they set us up with Maria from Chocobanana to set up tours and with Teo who came to the house to do massages on the porch! Tamarindo is a quick 25 minute drive (and its worth it to stay in Playa Grande. SO much more calm.) and easy to get to if youre looking for more people and souvenirs. Also the nicer grocery store is there, which I would recommend. Overall, we would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone! We had an absolutely wonderful time! Thank you Allen and Kathy!! Pura Vida!!

Perfect location

The house was a great size for our group of 7. There are a lot of doors to lock up when you leave but security is important as Alan just wants to keep your belongings safe. The beach was so private everyday. The views were just amazing. Alan was always there for questions and had great recommendations for local places to eat within walking distance. Maria helped us book our excursions Was the sweetest person to deal with. We had a trip of a lifetime. Alan really does have a little slice of heaven in this property. Also the seashells were amazing at this beach if youre a shell person. Fisherman are out ever morning and evening by the rock. The squirrels were fun to watch and we could feed the birds from the rail on the deck. Always something to watch.
