Description

Set in a warm, south-facing valley and surrounded by farmland, this newly converted barn, built of honey coloured granite, date from the 17th century. It has been imaginatively restored and luxuriously appointed, while retaining many exposed beams and original features. It offers comfortable accommodation for six people and a baby.

Recorded in the 14th century, Tregarne farmyard sits below the spring line and was probably the site of ancient Celtic settlements. It lies 2 miles from the coast and the popular Helford River area, and 1 mile from the village of Mawnan Smith. (Falmouth 4 miles).

Gwarthegva is set in its own garden with lovely views over a peaceful, wooded valley and fields. From the patio outside, you can watch the sun go down while enjoying a barbeque or an evening drink. Comfortable garden furniture is provided.

The slated entrance hall has storage cupboards with boots slippers, umbrellas and picnic equipment. Games equipment, including a large table tennis table , is available in the garage.

The kitchen (12 x 22ft) has maple fitted units with black granite work surfaces, Aga, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, TV, telephone, radio/tape player, and plenty of gadgets and crockery. Table seats six, with a sofa for morning coffee in comfort.

The living room (12 x 22ft) is light and airy. French doors lead onto the decking. there is a huge granite fireplace with log-burning stove. (the barn is also centrally heated). Three sofas give comfortable seating. TV/Video and plenty of books and games are provided.

From the hallway an oak staircase leads up to spacious landing with bookcase. Landing and bedrooms have fitted carpets.

The spacious master bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, has a large double bed, three double fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers, and windows overlooking the valley.

Bedroom two has twin beds, fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers and there is plenty of room for a cot if required.

The third bedroom has two comfortable, built in, 3ft wide cabin beds, which are suitable for children or adults. There are built in cupboards under both beds.

Beds have duvets. Blankets are available. Linen and towels available (small charge).

The family bathroom has bath, hand held shower, WC and basin.
