Description

At Marian Lodge you are not a tourist, you belong." declares Celine Molloy, the owner of this inviting, family run, three star registered Bed & Breakfast Guesthouse, with four diamond AA rating and membership of the Premier Guest Houses of Ireland. This delightful Guesthouse stands out in lovely, mature gardens with hanging baskets and large containers of flowers and is close to the promenade, beach and Leisureland. Just around the corner you will find the Galway Golf course and driving range. The facilities for fishing, tennis, horse riding, windsurfing are all within easy reach. One minutes walk will leave you at a nice, quite pub and restaurant and a little further on to Salthill reveals a wide range of restaurants, pubs and shops. Your Hostess, Celine originally from County Donegal fell in love with the Galway area and now provides a warm Donegal welcome and a home from home atmosphere in her spacious modern home.

Celine is an excellent cook who bakes her own bread, which provides a tasty addition to the extensive choice at breakfast time. This meal is served from 8:00- 9:30 in the dining room with its elegant Waterford chandelier, Victorian and Italian antique furniture and splendid views of Galway Bay. Another interesting feature of the house is the collection of vintage pots and pans displayed around the rustic fireplace. Celine will also help you plan your daily itinerary. She books daily bus tours from outside her home to Connemara, taking in Clifden, Kylemore Abbey and the impressive scenery of Lough Inagh. This dramatic landscape was inspirational to and played no small part in the success of films such as "The Quiet Man" and "The Field". Another daily bus our will bring you to The Burren, where limestone rock covers the landscape and yet between the rock formations lies alpine and arctic plants for which the region is famous. Another Highlight is the Cliffs of Mohir, you can view the wild Atlantic Ocean from the Cliff Tops that reach up 200 meters. You can also stop and explore the Ailwee caves. Tickets are on sale at Marian Lodge for the daily ferry trips to the Aran Islands and the bus, which services the boat, will pick you up outside the house itself. This beautiful family home has 6 ensuite rooms all comprehensively equipped with Cable TV, Orthopaedic beds, direct dial telephone, hair dryer, a clock radio and tea & coffee making facilities. Marian Lodge - open all year round except Christmas - offers top quality accommodation, friendly service and exceptional value for money.
