Description

This attractive, converted Normandy barn stands in a half acre field, with ample parking space in a tranquil, un-spoilt area of Normandy. The cottage is down a quiet track, usually used by tractors and local farmers. This is a place to relax, to read, ramble, fish, ride and explore nature. Cider, calvados and great cheeses are part of Normandy traditional specialties, and eggs, honey and foie gras are available locally. Whether it is the warm summer, or the cooler winter months, this is a great spot for vacations, leisurely weekends, or Christmas and Easter breaks.

The house is comfortable, well-equipped and combines English and French styles, including an open hearth fireplace, winding stone staircase, stone walls and tiled floors. Entry to the south facing cottage is via the terrace, which in the summer has flowering clematis and lavender bushes and equipped with garden furniture and B-B-Q. The main door leads into a cosy living room with large comfortable sofas, and through to a spacious kitchen/dining area with antique dressers. There is a downstairs w.c. with wash basin and the kitchen is fully furnished with cooker, microwave, large fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. A pine table and wicker chairs set the scene for the enjoyment of eating in France. The cottage is centrally heated, making it comfortable as a home throughout the year. The whole cottage is tastefully decorated with original oak beams throughout. There are three bedrooms - the largest with a double bed, wardrobe and dresser plus en suite shower and wash basin; there is a second bedroom with a double bed and a third with twin beds. The separate bathroom has a w.c., bath and shower.
