Description

Be enveloped in an atmosphere of high ceilings in a round room with beautiful views caressed by soothing breezes and the music of the birds and the surf that will leave you relaxed and speechless--the true feeling of being on Moloka'i, the "most Hawaiian island." Watch the sunrises, sunsets, and waves breaking from the One master bedroom vacation rental Cottage, decks, and living areas.

From the deck, watch the birds and enjoy the beautiful, dreamlike view of blue-water, waves crashing outside its protective reef where sea turtles make their home, with the Island Maui, only 8 miles away, looming large across the channel at the closest point between the two islands. You can see whales and dolphins jumping in the channel as they pass through the bay. Swim in clear, shallow, gradually-deepening waters near the sandy shore between the sky and the sandy bottom. Snorkel along the beautiful reefs and look down over the reef "cliffs" into the deep blue channel. Kayak in the bay and to neighboring bays. Kids can ride the tiny waves on one side and 2 or 3 small boats can anchor on the other.

Beach access. Swim, snorkel, or kayak and see a turtle looking back at you like a telescope. Jump off into the deep tidal pools and lay on warm lava rocks and flat sand. Walk, jog, bike, or drive up and down the one lane road along the ocean beaches, rocks, and mountains. Go to a "real" Hawaiian luau on Honouliwai with real Hawaiians. See actively farmed taro fields plowed by Molokai's only water buffalo "Big Foot". Take a boat tour right from Honouliwai to pristine Wailau Valley & take a jungle hike in this beautiful remote valley, catch a fish, see mountain goats, flying fish & more sea turtles.

Nestled in the heart of the East End Molokai Hawaiian Community known as Mana'e, with its own ancient sea fish pond, Honouliwai Bay at mile 20.5, is right between East Molokai's favorite surf spot, "Rock Point" and Molokai's largest & safest 3-6 foot deep snorkel spot, Moanui Beach at mile 20, known as "Murphy's Beach". Three miles to Neighborhood Store lunch counter, 5 miles to Pu'uohoku Ranch for horseback tours of mountains and beaches. There is the 7 mile scenic drive to Halawa Bay where you can hike to it's famous sky-high twin Falls at Mo'o'ula. Be sure to leave a gift for the mo'o (lizard) before you dive into the magnificent deep pool at the base of the falls.
