Description

Amberley is a large, modern ranch-style bungalow situated in one acre of idyllic lawns and gardens with river frontage. Tucked away behind the 13th-century Parish Church in the conservation area of the village, overlooking the Wreake Valley, we offer both bed and breakfast and self-catering accommodation.

Our holiday annexe is self-contained with its own entrance. The kitchen is fitted with a gas cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Small hall leading to the 18x12-foot lounge into dining conservatory overlooking lawns and gardens to the river's edge with rural views beyond. The annexe sleeps 2 in its own double bedroom, plus one in a put-up bed in the lounge if required. Bathroom with bath, shower and WC. A non-smoking annexe by popular request. Colour TVs in lounge and bedroom. No smoking by popular request. Sorry no pets. (Prices given below.)

See swans and bird life on the river bank or try your hand at fishing. In the evenings, you can watch for foxes with their cubs on the floodlit lawns. Horse riding is available at the nearby Riverside Riding Centre and there's an 18-hole golf course just 3 miles from us. Excellent meals are available at the local inns within easy walking distance. We have ample parking and full wheelchair access.

The village of Asfordby is just 3 miles west of the famous pork pie and Stilton cheese town of Melton Mowbray which has bustling street markets every Tuesday and Saturday. Melton's 13th-century St. Mary's Church is one of the most impressive in the county and well worth a visit.
Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham and Oakham are all within a 15-mile radius. Legendary Robin Hood country is close by too!

For other excursions you can visit Warwick Castle, Stratford-upon-Avon, Rockingham Castle, Belvoir Castle and the Peak District which are just an hour's drive away.
