Excellent Stay

Our vacation with the Davidson family offered an exceptional opportunity to take part in an active working ranch. The setting was spectacular with wide open plains, sweeping mountain ranges, and colorful sunsets. The historic stone house was warm and open to everyone including pets of all sizes. We enjoyed the family style meals that unfolded into evening activities generated by the comradery among guests and visiting neighbors. There was plenty of opportunity for privacy, quite time and rest as well as fun and laughter. The Davidsons are extraordinary people who made our stay stress free and very comfortable. I would recommend this guest lodge to anyone who is open to adventure in a rustic home style setting with all its natural beauty and steeped in American wild west history. We look forward to our next visit with this host and hostess.

Beautifully

Exceeded our every expectation. Tom and Alicia are top notch hosts and gourmet cooks. Every meal was plentiful, beautifully presented and delicious. Beds are comfy. This place is really a best kept secret but shouldn\'t be!! We will definitely be back.

Great stay

Tom and Alicia were extremely warm and welcoming. They invited us to partake in their home-cooked meals, as advertised, and took a turn holding our baby while we ate! I got the urge to make cookies and they graciously provided all the ingredients. They took the time to show us the stars after dark and we got to know their animals. Basically everything was as advertised. Our whole family had a great time (our baby and dog, too.)

AMAZING

My wife and I had an AMAZING time at the DD Gamble Guest Lodge. It was a perfect place to stop and unwind, I only wish I could of stayed longer. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Tom and his wife, plus all their beautiful dogs. As soon as we got settled we were given a tour of the property, including meeting all of their beautiful horses and cattle. What an experience! The next morning we were given a guided tour of the valley located behind the ranch which has so much history behind it. While at the Lodge our meals were provided, and all of them were excellent! We had an excellent time and will definitely be back. I highly recommend taking the time to visit the DD Gamble Ranch.

Good

If you find yourself dreaming of an authentic escape from the daily grind of whatever this world has become, then spend a weekend here. They do not talk enough about their meals. They made the most amazing dinner I\'ve had in a long time. It was absolutely wonderful and an atmosphere typically only created by the presence of family. It was a 4 1/2 hour drive home and my daughter talked about it the whole way. She won\'t stop asking when we will go back.

Great

Tom and Alicia were great hosts! From the moment we arrived they went out of their way to make us comfortable. We were able to see the beautiful Horseshoe Canyon on horseback and Alicia used her four wheeler to bring our other friends to the canyon who did not want to ride horses. As an added treat, we met Tom and Alicia\'s friends who joined us for dinner and they entertained us with original music reflecting the stories of the region. The hosts provided us with directions to Portal to see the state park in it\'s glorious fall colors (Sycamore trees in abundance), and incredible rock formations. Tom and Alicia are very knowledgable about the history of the area and are eager to share! We would definitely plan a trip back to the ranch if we are going to southern Arizona.
