If you prefer, you can just sit on the screened porch overlooking the beautiful St. Marks River and soak up the peaceful solitude of a completely unspoiled environment. As the sun goes down, you will be captivated by the rhythmic melodies of the frogs and crickets, guaranteed to soothe your soul.

This is our second stay here and we know we will be back again. We so appreciate the beauty and natural setting of this place. In our two visits here, we have enjoyed seeing deer, owls (right outside our windows) and numerous Florida birds hanging out on the river.
 
Our hosts Floyd and Carolyn were attentive and available to our needs. The Seinyard restaurant has definitely become one of our favorite places to eat (awesome food) and we make sure we visit it every time we are blessed enough to come back to visit.

This place is amazing! We have fallen in love with the breathtaking and extremely relaxing environment.
 
The jumping fish were hysterical! However, the cows walking in the river topped the fish. The house was perfect and had every thing we needed.

Well, what can we say except the location was superb. The interior design is a testament to all your hard work and imagination. Spotlessly clean. So tranquil and relaxing sitting on the dock in the morning.
 
The beds are some of the most comfortable we have had the pleasure to sleep in. The nighttime chorus (of the crickets and frogs) is something we will always remember. Great fun trying to catch the uncooperative mullet in the river, but we did catch one at the Seinyard restaurant and it was mind blowing.
 
So, Floyd and Carolyn, thank you very much for a wonderful Retreat.

Weekend getaway


Idyllic weekend. The cabin is cozy, feels like you have left the 21st century behind (but not amenities like wifi, gas grill, or modern kitchen). We explored the Gulf coast and then returned to grill steaks and hang out on the porch. The flowing St. Mark\'s river, surrounding trees and wildlife were magical. Thank you for sharing,

Beautiful Slice of the real Florida


What a beautiful retreat! A perfect beginning of the day to have your coffee on the river watching deer, woodpeckers, otters and the beautiful trees. Very comfortable and everything you need for a wonderful stay! Best of both worlds, the beauty and serenity and the modern convenience of wifi and direc t.v. for catching the football games. Carolyn and Floyd are just the best, and enjoyed our chats with Floyd!

River Hideaway

Perfect Escape


My husband and I lead very busy lives and our weekend in this retreat was absolutely what we needed! The seclusion of being surrounded by the lush landscape of trees and vines , just steps from the water was nothing short of magical. The sounds of the river as we sat drinking coffee at sunrise was magnificent and mesmerizing watching the river flow by as fish jump.. We have traveled many places, but this was a unique a wonderful experience that we will most certainly revisit!

Perfectly peaceful


Arriving at St Marks Retreat was like arriving at the family cabin. So cute and homey and well kept. Has every thing you need including very comfortable beds. Never turned on the tv. The frogs chatter and watching jumping fish from the dock was plenty of evening entertainment. Location is convienient to many kayaking opportunities including the gulf. Highly recommend as the perfect place to unwind.

Up the Lazy River


Hard to add to all the other reviews of this beautiful place. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful setting with birds flying and mullet jumping as you gaze on the river from the screen porch, this is it. Don\'t forget to bring your kayak for river exploring.
