Description

Welcome to Tir Na N'og, “Land of the forever young”, a luxurious beachfront estate on 10 secluded acres of gardens and walkways. Tir Na Nog includes a spectacular private beach, manicured grounds surrounded by coconut palms, flowers, fruit trees, a private tennis court., and a new private pool. (Pool can be heated at renter's option for a fee of $400/week.)

Tir Na No’g was built in 2007 by local carpenters and craftsmen under the vision of famed interior decorator David Flint Wood. Decorated in the elegant style of an old Caribbean plantation house, the four separate housing structures allow for bedroom privacy, along with group dining and socializing in the Great Hall and surrounding patios. The estate is rented to only one group at a time, and all structures are included in the weekly rate.

Tir Na Nog is situated in the most sought-after location on Eleuthera, the Atlantic seashore on the Banks Road, where a select number of estates overlook a beautiful pink-sand beach, only minutes from nearby restaurants. The buildings on the estate include:

1. THE GREAT HALL: This elegant colonial-style building, surrounded by a large, wrap-around porch with sweeping views of the estate, is the gathering place for fine dining, relaxation and entertaining. The Great Hall features a full kitchen and large dining area with seating for 12. The spacious living/entertainment area, elegantly furnished in old plantation style, includes a large flat-screen satellite TV, DVD movie library, books for children and adults, and board games. The Great Hall also has a breezy outdoor dining area with a gas grill, and a roof deck with views of the ocean.

2. THE MAIN HOUSE: This lovely colonial building features another large wrap-around porch with views of the tennis court and gardens. Inside are three bedrooms, each with a full en-suite bathroom and separate entrance from the porch. Two of the bedrooms have king beds. The third has twin beds with two additional trundle beds. The bedrooms in the main house do not connect internally, so you must walk out onto the wrap-around veranda to go from one bedroom to another. Keep this in mind if traveling with small children.

3. THE BEACH COTTAGES: These two romantic cottages with views of the ocean have king bedrooms with full bathrooms, under-counter refrigerators, coffee makers, and outdoor seating areas with deck chairs. They are located 100 yards from the Main House and Great Hall for privacy.

4. THE TIKI HUT: This beachside, open-air shelter has shady seating under a thatched roof. The nearby Cabana has outdoor showers and a storage room housing beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, and beach toys.

5. THE TENNIS PAVILION provides shady seating on white wicker furniture beside the tennis court. The pavilion is fully equipped with tennis rackets and balls. It also contains a laundry room with washer and dryer.

MORNING MAID SERVICE (every weekday except holidays) and on-site caretaker are complimentary at Tir Na N’og. A private chef can be arranged.

A VAST REEF just 300 meters offshore ensures idyllic kayaking and snorkeling conditions for anyone staying at Tir Na N'og. We have plenty of snorkeling gear, as well as beach recliners and water loungers for those of us who prefer to spend the day taking in the sun. We also have a baby monitor, pack and play crib, and kids’ beach toys for those traveling with children.

THE FAMOUS BEACH RESTAURANT AND BAR Tippy’s is just a ten-minute walk down the beach. Other upscale restaurants within easy driving distance include Pascale's, Buccaneer, La Bouginvillea, 1648, and Buccaneer. The town of Governors Harbour, just two miles away, has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Best Place Ever!

We will definitely be back to this amazing property! Our entire group loved it - we hung by the pool, walked along the beach to Tippy\'s (our fave restaurant), played tennis every morning, and everyone had their own privacy, which is always ideal on vacation!

Paradise Found!

We arrived at Tir Na Nog with high expectations and they were is even more beautiful than the pictures can represent. Everything was ready upon our arrival including delivery of our groceries for the week from The Market Place. Anne arrived shortly after, introduced us to our caretakers for the week, Daniel and Christine. Christine cleaned and tidied us up every morning and was a pleasure to work with. Our family of 8 had never been to the Bahamas...Eleuthera was the perfect choice...not too remote but never a busy tourist trap. We had the beach to ourselves most every day - a 2-minute walk from the house and a beautiful new pool to relax in. We had a tennis tournament, played games, cooked gourmet dinners all at Tir Na Nog. We walked to Tippy\'s for great food and live music, shopped for freshly baked bread, herbs and vegetables at Anne\'s market, Island Farm. We made a day trip to Harbour Island and enjoyed shopping and fross at Rock House. Jumped in to the Sapphire Blue Hole and partied at the Friday Fish Fry in Governor\'s Harbour. Our trip could not have been any more wonderful and Tir Na Nog was our fantastic home away from home.

Amazing!!!!!!

Top notch!!! Beautiful!!!

Tir Na Nog...

Our family, together with a few friends, stayed at Tir Na Nog for ten days beginning in late October of 2017. Over the past ten years or so, we\'ve rented perhaps a dozen different beach front properties - mostly in the Bahamas (our favorite destination for a holiday), plus two in Mexico, one in Belize, and one in Sardinia. With one exception, all of these properties were quite wonderful. Only Tir Na Nog, however, made my family quite upset - upset that we had to leave. The location is absolutely perfect - on one of the finest beaches in the world...long, crescent-shaped, with the softest sand imaginable, an offshore reef for snorkeling and lobstering, and a little beach bar at one end. In the time we were there, we saw perhaps a dozen other people on \"our\" beach. Yet the little town of Governor\'s Harbor is just a few miles away, providing all the services one might need on a holiday, including several nice restaurants. The other thing we loved about Tir was the \"compound\" layout - one building (comprising a living room, dining area, and kitchen) serving as a delightful gathering place in the evenings, while three separate buildings provided ample space and privacy for everyone in our group (three couples and one single). And having ten acres all to yourself - that\'s something we\'ve never before experienced in a holiday home. Finally, Christine (housekeeper) keeps the place immaculate. There were a few issues with the plumbing and air conditioning, and with power outages - a small price to pay for the privilege of enjoying such a magical property.

5 Couples Annual Trip.

Stove didn\'t work for first two days, then new stove. AC didn\'t work for first two days, fixed and no other issues. A great facility and location, and Anne Bethel was a very responsive and great property manager.
