Description

The Duck Inn is proud to announce the arrival of our new addition “Duck Out”.

This charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath home is located on one of the most spectacular pink sand beaches in Eleuthera. Step into an airy, open plan living area tastefully furnished with window seats for relaxing or reading a good book. Just off the living area is a full kitchen with marble counter tops and top of the line appliances including a full size stove, refrigerator, washer/dryer, and dishwasher.

Both bedrooms have queen size beds, split unit air conditioning, and lovely ocean views. One bedroom has an on suite bath.

The 240 square foot deck is just a few steps away from your own mile-long deserted beach. A spectacular coral reef is only 100 feet off the beach, great for snorkeling or to catch some dinner. There is also a native stone patio behind the house with a barbecue grill and your own little secret garden for relaxing.

There is excellent snorkeling off our beach. Two beachfront restaurant/bars are walking distance down the beach: Unique Village, 5 minutes, and La Bougainvillea 15 minutes.

Amenities include air conditioning, WIFI, cable TV, and a gas grill.

Our friendly staff will greet you on arrival and will be available if needed during your stay.

The town of Governors Harbour, the main town on the island, is just 10 minutes from the property. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. You can buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won’t want to miss it.

Upscale beachfront restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), Tippy’s (international and fusion), 1648 House, and The Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks and seafood). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including Da Perk (coffee shop and sandwiches), The Buccaneer (salads, burgers, wraps), Mate and Jenny’s (pizza and Bahamian) and the Sunset Inn (local cuisine).

Duck Out

Clean, beautiful beach, if you looking for privacy this is an excellent choice. Carol was excellent, she met us at the entrance point of the road, cottage can be challenging to find. The kitchen is well equipped. The deck areas provide everything anyone would want. It even includes a shower! Highly recommended.

Wonderful location on the beach!

We had a wonderful stay in this well equipped house. The location is very remote and quiet. We loved the view and went swimming several times a day.

Lovely secluded home

Enjoyed the privacy and the location directly on the beach. You will see people walking on the beach and occasionally swimming in front of the house but for the most part you have the beach to yourself. Home is clean and well maintained; Carol the charming caretaker is efficient and promptly takes care of any maintenance issues. Locating the property can be a challenge and the road to the house is heavily gouged and rutted. It is situated in North Palmetto a good ways off the Queens Highway and it takes at least 10 minutes or more to drive to Governors Harbor where many of the restaurants and facilities are located. Gas is $5.00 a gallon and the gas stations do not take credit cards so bring plenty of cash if you plan on leaving the cottage often as there will be plenty of driving involved. All in all a lovely place to unwind.

Duck our spring break

All aspects were fantastic. Five stars. Would recommend without hesitation.

Paradise Again

It is almost impossible to describe the experience one has on Eleuthera. Although the everyday conveniences are lacking, the pristine beauty and complete relaxation more than make up for this lack. The beaches are breathtaking, the accommodations are more than satisfactory. Having the French doors open and hearing the waves every morning while you\'re sipping your coffee and enjoying the fragrances wafting in from the tropical plants is hard to leave behind. Only thoughts of your return the next year makes it bearable. I would highly recommend this property especially if only two people. We thought it may be a tight for four.
