Description

The Gallery apartment is a delightful spot for a couple or for one traveler. Spacious, bright, and airy, the apartment is above our home and my studio/gallery. The apartment is separate and includes its own entrance to ensure your privacy and convenience. It has just recently been renovated to ensure your comfort..

The apartment is accessed by an outside stairway. The living room is spacious and provides ample seating, as well as areas to work. Windows overlook our wooded backyard. You may also spy birds at the feeder below.  Internet access and a TV with satellite are provided. If you are a reader, there are many books available for borrowing! A lockbox on the door allows for late arrivals. A small refrigerator, toaster, keurig coffee pot and microwave are included for guest use. There is a tub/ shower combination in the private bathroom.....

Wifi password will be provided upon check in.  The entire apartment, seating areas in the yard and outside my studio are available to guests. My Studio Gallery is open in the afternoons and guests are welcome to visit and watch me paint. I am a watercolor artist and love to paint our beautiful coastal landscapes and villages. Examples  of my prints can be seen in the apartment.

The apartment is located in a central location in the town of Damariscotta.  Within 15 minutes is the beautiful coastal Pemaquid Peninsula with the famous Pemaquid Lighthouse, Pemaquid Beach and the fishing village of New Harbor.  30 minutes away from our town of Damariscotta will bring you to the Boothbay Harbor Region, including the delightful Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Brunswick, Rockland and Camden are only 40 minutes from us, so there many opportunities for day or afternoon adventures.

My husband, Mike, and I love sharing the joys of Midcoast Maine with our guests! We are happy to offer suggestions (when requested!) for local activities, restaurants, and day trips. If guests would like to chat with me personally, I can be found working in my Studio Gallery or in the gardens most afternoons.  If assistance is needed at any time we can be reached by phone. However, for guests who value privacy and quiet, the Gallery Apartment is perfect- you can come and go as though you were in your own home. You need not encounter us unless you wish to!...

Most days and nights the cool Maine air will keep the apartment comfortable without the use of the air conditioner, but the visitors should feel free to use the one provided if needed.

The television has a DISH satellite hook up. The remote should be set on Channel 60 to access the DISH channels.  Once on Channel 60, arrow up or down to reach other channels. Directions for TV and air condioner are located near them.

Great Experience!

We had a short but wonderful stay in the Gallery Apartment. It was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Kathleen was the perfect host. She was attentive and warm when we checked in/out and left helpful guides in the room that answered any and all questions that we had. Would love to return in the future!

Perfect for my overnight stay

Hostess very welcoming and helpful. Had a couple of really nice walks from her suggestions and a delicious dinner. Apartment totally crisp and clean. Very attractive space. Wish there had been a glass for my wine and mug for my morning coffee and not just paper, but those are small wants in an otherwise lovely visit.

Comfortable, clean, & convenient

I have stayed in several different rooms/ apartments in the Dameriscotta area while attending classes. This was one of the best. The bed ( and pillows! ) were very comfortable after a long day of traveling. Cold water, coffee, tea, and fruit were waiting for me which meant I did not have to run out to the grocery store until the next day. The kitchenette was well stocked. There was reliable internet so I could keep in touch with my family. Your hosts Kathleen and Mike were welcoming and easy to talk to. I enjoyed looking at Kathleen\'s artwork in the gallery, but sadly missed out on a tour of the Marine center by Mike due to my class schedule. I would definitely stay here again.
