Here is your chance to live like a local in the old city of Switzerland's capital city, Bern. Step outside your front door to discover the city's main attractions like the famous Zytglogge (Renaissance Clock Tower), Münster (Cathedral), Kursaal, Kultural Casino Bern, Concert theater, BärenPark, and Einstein's house where he developed his famous theory of relativity.
 
Nestled among amazing restaurants, cafés and bi weekly street markets, this apartment has everything you could possibly need and is full of original character as well as all the modern conveniences and furniture! Charming and light filled, the apartment can accommodate 1-5 people, 2 on the 160x200 cm (queen) bed and 2 on the sofa bed (double) and lastly one person on a fold-out bed (suitable for smaller adults or children). You will have your own modern kitchen and bath room as well as a large living room, dining room and master bedroom. 
 
On the 1st and 2nd floor, in the typical Bernese apartment style, the kitchen and bathroom is separated from the bedroom and living room and is accessed by walking across the landing through the house's spiral stairwell.  Although, this staircase is used by all four apartments in the building, running into anybody between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 am is very rare.  Many guests love this unique aspect as it allows for two seperate living spaces, one side for quiet time and one side for early risers or conversations a little later in the day.
 
A scant 10 minute walk under the romantic arcades brings you to/from the train station and mere seconds away from all the main tram and bus lines.
 
The Bern Visitor Tax is NOT INCLUDED in your booking fees. Collected in Cash upon arrival 5.30 CHF/per person over 16 years/night (reduced rate of 1.50 for age 6-16 and free for under 6 years) Instructions and Benefits: From your very first overnight stay in our accommodation, you will receive a Bern Ticket for your whole stay, which lets you travel for free on public transport in zones 100/101 operated by the LIBERO Association. It also includes the famous Gurten funicular, the funicular Marzilibahn, and the elevator to the Cathedral Platform, as well as travel to and from Bern Airport. On your day of arrival, your reservation confirmation can be used as a transfer ticket from the station or the airport of Bern to your accommodation. The Bern Visitor Tax is not included in your booking fees so when you arrive we will issue your Bern Visitor Cards and collect the city tax in cash anytime during your stay.

Do not miss the rare and delightful opportunity to enter the 18th century in this lovingly-preserved, family-owned building. Discover unique features everywhere you look, from coffered ceilings to hand-wrought hardware to early tromp l\'oeil paintings to carefully-preserved cabinetry. The host and his family provide a gracious welcome and many thoughtful touches to enhance your exploration of Bern and its environs, and the apartments are immaculately clean. If you demand Holiday Inn amenities, find and stay at a Holiday Inn. If you prefer an authentic experience in a piece of living history, stay here while you can. No better location in Bern!


My family and I were very happy to have chosen this apartment for our weekend stay in Bern. Situated in the heart of Old Town near the famous clock tower, there really is no better location for enjoying all the sights, sounds, and experiences of the city. The apartment preserves the charm of a historic building with the comforts of modern living and is well suited for a small family. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do but still able to easily stop back in for a rest or meal. Also, I cannot say better things about the hosts, who were extremely helpful and accomodating. Their communication before the trip was great and helped us to coordinate our arrival around the busy festivities that were going on downtown (we visited during the Fasnacht holiday). They also gave us tips to really enjoy the great parades and events that were happening around us! We definitely hope to stay again!
