This house is perfect in every way!

We stayed at this property over New Years. We have stayed at many vrbo properties throughout the world, and I can honestly say it is the best we have found. We stayed at Desert Rose facing the Atlantic and the beach was perfect. We explored many beaches in Eleuthera and our backyard view was our favorite. The home was ideal for our family of five and we were lucky enough to meet the property owners who were first class in every way. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay perfect. We can’t say enough good things about the privacy and beauty of this property. We will refer all our friends and family! Thank you for the wonderful memories!

Great property.Close to the beach.Well cared for.

lovely property--well situate with easy access to many of the beaches only downside is having the noseeums around at dusk making it difficult to sit outside for that sundowner

Best vacation ever!

This was the best vacation ever! The house itself was perfect for our needs--we have three in our family, but the house could sleep 6. We found the kitchen to be well-stocked, the gas grill very handy (along with the fish baskets to grill the catch of the day), and the beach to be amazing. The island is a slice of paradise. We went exploring and found new beaches almost every day. When we didn\\\'t want to go anywhere, we had the beach behind the house to enjoy the day--a perfect tiki hut to provide shade, plenty of rocks and things to explore when snorkeling, and soft pink sand to luxuriate in. Another bonus--very few people on any beach, so you feel like the beach is yours!!! The two weeks we were there did not give us enough time to do all the things we wanted to do, so we will be forced to come back!!! We cooked in and we ate out. Groceries were found at Burrow\\\'s and Eleuthera Supply (both in the Harbour), another great grocery store called Midway (Queen\\\'s Hwy near Savannah Sound), and a huge grocery store (the real deal) in Rock Sound. Buy your fresh produce at the Island Farms, along with fresh bread and cinnamon buns. Bristol\\\'s Liquor Store in GH for good wine and spirits. We enjoyed Buccaneer Club, Tippy\\\'s, and Bacchus Fine Foods for eating out. You really can\\\'t go wrong. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Andre, the caretaker, was also very helpful by meeting us coming in from the airport, replacing the gas tank for the grill, and even buying fresh fish for me one day when I couldn\\\'t. He called several times just to check in and make sure everything was going smoothly. All in all, the perfect vacation! Thank you, Barbara and Luciano!

Beautiful and secluded

We spent 6 nights at Garden of Light end of April through early May. We flew into North Eleuthera airport and were picked up by the property\\\'s caretaker Mr. Gardiner and his son. We rented an SUV through Mr. Gardiner as well which was very easy. The property is secluded on the Atlantic side; there are two houses on the property although there are enough palm trees, foliage, and distance to where there house is very private. The beach was beautiful and the house was well equipped with beach chairs, snorkel gear, grill and all the kitchen amenities needed to cook well at home. There was AC in the house which worked well although it was rarely needed as it was easy to get a breeze through the house. Wifi was very reliable in the house. We were able to pick up fresh fish in Governor\\\'s Harbor (sold next to the water across the street from Eleuthera Supply) to grill at home (catch is variable, had grouper and crab available). Groceries at Burrows, veggies/fresh bread/cinnamon rolls at Island Farm Eleuthera (just south of South Palmetto Point). Island Farm also sells a nice map of the island (4 separate maps for different areas) which was nice to have. It was quite windy on the Atlantic side for most of our trip (which meant essentially no noseeums). Wouldn\\\'t hesitate to come back!

Lucky find!

This was our first visit to Eleuthera, and we feel very fortunate to have discovered this wonderful property and location. A very short walk to a gorgeous, secluded beach where every sunrise walk was a fresh delight. Barbara was very helpful and responsive making arrangements and providing information about the island. The caretaker, Mr. Gardiner, was also responsive and solicitous, providing us with a car rental that simplified coordinating details for our trip. The house was very accommodating, with a gazebo in the front garden where we could retreat from the midday sun, read and share with the native curly tailed lizards. Very secluded yet close to the amenities and fresh fish in Governors Harbor and fresh produce at Island Farms. We lost power occasionally but not for long enough to create any hardship. Overall, we were enchanted and are looking forward to staying here again.
