Perfect Getaway nest for Painters/ Birdwatchers!!

Mayacala was exactly what we were hoping to find: a secret, off the beaten track but comfy retreat in the middle of the natural Mayan world. We were happy to have a week and a half to ourselves with only the birds, flora and striking views of the jungle and the lagoon for company. We will definitely think of coming back, to further explore the coastline of the lagoon, and make daytrips to some of the other rivers and ocean coast, pyramid complexes and dear little Mayan towns. Keep in mind that a car is essential. We were lucky to book a car out of Playa del Carmen when there was no availability in Chetumal. Plan on doing most of your food shopping before you arrive: esp. for the less mundane things on your food list. Birders! Start an ongoing list to add to!

A unique Magical place to Stay!!!!

Our experience in Mayacala house was wonderful. We found this corner away from the noise and civilization but with all the facilities to stay comfortably. The jewel of this awsome place besides the beautiful sweet Bacalar lagoon are their employees Miguel and his wife we thank deeply for all their atentions. If you are planning to stay be aware of the fact that the internet signal is weak, and the closest place to buy groceries is about 30 kms away.in the house there are, snorkeling gears bikes and we had a wonderful day in the lagoon with a double kayak that made our day perfect!

Wonderful Time at Mayacala

Our fourth time staying at Mayacala on beautiful Laguna Bacalar, just gets better and better. If you enjoy natural beauty, peace and quiet, in a lovely surrounding do not miss the chance to try this place. The lake is magical and Sally never stops improving her beautiful Casa. Thanks again and see you next year!
